Why We Created Purrfect Pursuit
Hi, I’m Amaris, co-founder of Purrfect Pursuit.
Growing up, I loved my parents deeply, but I always felt like there was a gap between us. When I tried to share something, it often felt brushed aside, ignored, or interrupted. Arguments ended with silence. Tears came behind closed doors. We’d eat together like nothing happened, but the misunderstandings never really disappeared—they just grew.
Over time, that gap turned into a wall. I was scared to be honest with them because I was terrified of disappointing them. I learned to give safe, half-truth answers to avoid conflict, and I hid parts of myself. If they didn’t know the real me, they couldn’t reject me, right? But deep down, I longed to be seen and accepted for who I really was.
Now that I’m older, I’m working on breaking that wall. It hasn’t been easy, but open communication has changed so much for us. Sometimes, just hearing “I love you” or “I understand” makes all the difference. But I still wish we had started earlier—before the misunderstandings piled up, before the silence became so normal.
I created Purrfect Pursuit because I know so many families feel this way. Parents love their kids, but they don’t always know how to ask the right questions or create space for real conversations. And kids, like my younger self, don’t always know how to open up or feel safe enough to share.
So I teamed up with my partner Will, a child and adolescent psychologist, to create a game that helps families bridge that gap. Purrfect Pursuit isn’t just a set of questions; it’s a way to explore what matters in a fun, relaxed, and safe environment. It’s not an interrogation—it’s an adventure.
If my family had something like this when I was growing up, maybe we could’ve talked through those little misunderstandings before they became walls. Maybe I would’ve felt safer being myself. Maybe we could’ve loved each other better, not just deeply but openly.
Purrfect Pursuit is a gift to my younger self, my parents, and to families like ours. It’s a chance to share, understand, and connect—because those moments can make all the difference.
Who We Are
We’re Amaris, a teacher, and Will, a child and adolescent psychologist, and we’re passionate about helping families connect. Between us, we’ve spent years working with kids and families, understanding what sparks curiosity, builds trust, and encourages meaningful conversations.
We didn’t create Purrfect Pursuit alone. We teamed up with a group of incredible people: psychologists, doctors, teachers, and child specialists, along with real families, to ensure this game truly works. By combining research, clinical insights, and real-world experiences, we’ve created a game that’s thoughtful, engaging, and designed to bring families closer.
What We Do
We get it—life is busy, screens are everywhere, and finding ways to connect as a family can feel hard. That’s where we come in. We created Purrfect Pursuit to help families slow down, laugh together, and really talk, without it feeling forced or awkward.
This isn’t just about “family bonding”. It’s about breaking through the silence, easing the tension, and making space for moments that matter. Whether it’s a funny challenge, a thoughtful question, or a lighthearted competition, every part of Purrfect Pursuit is designed to make family time feel natural, meaningful, and fun.
We believe that the best conversations happen when everyone feels relaxed and included. That’s why we’ve made a game that’s simple to play, easy to love, and perfect for creating memories you’ll all treasure.
