How We Crafted the Perfect Family Game
Creating Purrfect Pursuit wasn’t just about making a game—it was about making a tool for meaningful family connection, designed with care and expertise. Here’s how we developed the questions and activities that make this game truly unique:
Step 1: Drawing from Research and Experience
We started by leveraging child development theory, academic research, and our own clinical experience to draft over 60-70 thoughtful questions for each of the six categories: self, emotions, coping, fun, family, and social. These questions were carefully designed to be age-appropriate, clear, and impactful, ensuring they resonate with families of all kinds.
Step 2: Expert Review and Refinement
Next, we shared the draft questions with a diverse group of experts, including psychologists, doctors, teachers, and other child-focused specialists. These experts reviewed every question, removing anything that wasn’t engaging, clear, or relevant. This step helped us refine the pool to 40-50 of the best questions for each category.
Step 3: Tested by Real Families
Once reviewed, the questions were shared with families of varying backgrounds and with children of different ages. This step was crucial to see how the questions worked in real-life settings -- were they easy to understand, engaging, and meaningful? Feedback from families allowed us to further improve the questions to ensure they were practical and effective.
Step 4: Finalizing the Perfect Questions
Based on input from both experts and families, we finalized 40 questions for each category. These are the questions you’ll find in Purrfect Pursuit—crafted to spark laughter, meaningful conversations, and genuine connection during every play session.
